12 month parental leave cover role with a global financier and well respected household name looking for a driven individual to contribute and provide expertise to the collections and credit risk team.


You will form part of a small dynamic team that will be responsible for analysis and reporting on the credit risk lifecycle, in particular As part of a dynamic and motivated close-knit team, you will report to the Chief Risk Officer, specialising in Collections Portfolio.

You will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining credit collections policies on write-offs, debt sales and collections by providing quantified recommendations on credit risk triggers and will oversee the optimisation of the retail credit life cycle.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Use analytical tools and software to provide quantified recommendations to senior stakeholders by implementing, monitoring and maintaining i) collections ii) write-off iii) recovery and iv) debt sale strategies

  • Assist portfolio management to improve credit risk triggers including identifying sources of delinquency and loss indicators

  • Build trusting relations with customers as well as external auditors and regulators

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 4+ years credit risk experience in retail banking

  • Solid understanding of retail credit life cycle: acquisitions (judgemental and automated); retail credit policy; account management; collections and recoveries

  • Ability to verbally and in written form present to senior stakeholders issues in risk collections portfolio in a concise manner

  • Demonstrated software and analytical tool experience (e.g. PowerBI, SQL, SAS) and the ability to interpret this data into simple trends

  • Goal oriented focus, with the ability to motivate and lead a team in driving innovation and outcomes
