THE ROLE

Due to an internal secondment, an opportunity exists for a Line 1 Operational Risk Manager to join the Corporate & Institutional Bank portfolio on a 12 month FTC.

Reporting to the Head of First Line Risk & Compliance, you will support and facilitate the consistent application of the 1st Line of Defence Operational risk and control framework across Institutional Banking.

You will be responsible for facilitating and implementing risk management into business processes to enable 1st line to assume accountability.

  • Lead, prepare and complete various operational risk controls self assessment processes
  • Assist in driving a risk culture which promotes day to day Risk awareness
  • Provide the business with pragmatic, outcome-focused operational risk advice
  • Manage incidents and issues until completed and closed
  • Support the Head of First Line Risk in managing operational risk on a global basis

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Demonstrated Operational Risk/Controls/Internal Audit experience
  • Understanding of corporate and institutional banking products and customers
  • Curiosity and motivation to improve the process
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability translate complex concepts into plain English
