Junior Project Manager

Seeking a junior Project Manager with experience in delivering BOTH to business and government or education. Experience in marketing or large scale events, would also be highly regarded. CV must be detailed and articulate.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Experience in delivery of large-scale event-based showcases and/or arts programs is highly desired
  • Great, clear communication skills
  • Ability to change language and messages depending on audience
  • Advanced documentation skills, ability to clearly document processes, requirements, problem statements and formal PMO documents
  • Be able to develop effective end user communications
  • Dynamic and positive approach and eager to listen and learn, and get stuck into anything
  • Ability to change direction and approach when business priorities change or move
  • Previous experience working within private sector, vendors and service industries
  • Self-motivated individual that actively takes the initiative with an ability to work autonomously
  • Persistent, effective problem solver with a mix of analytical and creative thinking
  • Experience creating high quality project and program artefacts, within emerging or existing frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to walk into different organisations and pick up the context of the businesses operating environment. This maybe demonstrated in someone's' CV by having successfully managed projects across different/varied subject matter
  • Ability to be comfortable having new subject matter thrown at them and the ability to understand it very quickly.
  • Ability to develop and implement contingency plans in short timeframes
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Business focused junior project manager (1-3 years experience) able to manage business process projects from requirements to successful implementation
  • Manage high volumes of complex information in a strategic and dynamic environment to embed high quality communication strategies and protocols
  • Manage entire project teams to ensure that the project outcomes are achieved
  • Develop and implement project management plans to ensure the success of the project
  • Build effective relationships with key senior stakeholders to ensure identification and tracking of project objectives
  • Prepare and present project status reports and communicate project updates to inform decision making at the senior level
  • Balance competing demands to ensure projects objectives are achieved
  • Take responsibility for delivering on intended outcomes
  • Monitor the completion of project milestones against goals and initiate amendments where necessary
  • Responsibly manage project finances including budget formation, forecasting and reporting up to 5 million dollars
  • Actively identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and dependencies to program leadership
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with the Department's strategic goals and school-centric project delivery concepts
  • Demonstrated experience in managing external vendors
  • Co-ordinate with business owner teams to ensure the support model and process are well defined and that the solution is transitioned successfully
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint skills
  • PRINCE2 Methodology certification or equivalent awareness/experience
