Senior Human Resources Officer

This leading NSW Government Department is seeking to engage a Senior Human Resources Officer for an initial 6-month contract, with potential to extend for 12 months.

The Senior Human Resources Officer Policy and Governance is a member of the Workforce Strategy leadership group.

Key Accountabilities

The role works with centres of expertise and Performance Partners to drive HR policies and processes that build and sustain leadership, workforce capabilities and culture, enabling the delivery on major reform and strategic priorities.

The role is integral to our strategic priorities of investing in our people and building a modern organisation through its key responsibility for designing, delivering and evaluating our implementation of new and innovative frameworks for flexible work.

The role provides thought leadership, research and advice in the review and development of the HR Policy framework.

The successful applicant will be joining a supportive and collaborative team, with a range of opportunities to collaborate on exciting initiatives that are making a real difference.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Understanding of the NSW Public Sector Policy and Governance Framework and its key strategic HR initiatives is desirable
  • Experience delivering new HR initiatives through a change and/or project management approach is desirable
