Lead and advise on critical licensing matters for ASIC requirement project within domestic and global compliance/operational risk teams

Unique opportunity to apply your broad compliance experience within a top-tier global investment bank to lead a critical project within global risk and compliance teams for new licensing requirements arising from a revised ASIC regime.

THE ROLE

This role reports directly to the Head of Compliance and Operational Risk in Australia and partners closely with the business and Compliance and Operational Risk teams locally and globally. Drive project management on application of Foreign Financial Service Provider licenses, focussing on assissting with new licensing requirements against current policy review.

You will be responsible for providing advice on Australian regulatory framework and securities laws and regulations and how this can be applied to designing new processes in liaison with new licensing regime.

Liaise with the regional and global business and compliance and operational risk teams to drive change within the organisation and deliver the project in-line with regulatory requirements.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum 6 years compliance/legal experience within an investment bank or regulator, with a clear understanding of the changing regulatory environment
  • Demonstrated experience advising on the practical implementation of regulatory requirements and market conduct regulations
  • Investment Banking, Equity, Futures and FICC product knowledge preferred
  • Ability to drive projects and perform well under pressure
  • Strong report writing skills and the ability to communicate verbally and in written form complex reporting issues and requirements to all levels of employees and stakeholders
