Make your mark and the take time to understand your key strengths and achievements so you stand out. The Sydney market is competitive and preparation and confidence in your ability is key!
Contracting is a great way to get exposure to a wide range of clients and develop your own skill set and experience. It is important that you partner yourself with a recruiter that knows their clients and industry inside and out, ensuring that you get the most out of every assignment. Ensure that you detail all previous Projects you have completed on your CV and are able to talk over these at interview stage. Stakeholders always want to know what you have achieved in previous roles, deadlines you have met, costs you have saved and how you can add value to their company. Be prepared to portray this in the interview, it is key to getting the job!
I joined Morgan McKinley in 2013 and I have been instrumental in the continued success of the IT and Business Transformation team.
Prior to joining Morgan McKinley Australia, he had worked with a specialist contract consultancy based in London since 2009.
I pride myself on building strong, long lasting relationships with both candidates and clients. I spend time getting to know the culture of each client I work with, keeping up-to-date with any structural changes, so I can find the right candidate to fit the client’s needs. I realise that the success of my clients relies on the quality of the candidates I supply. As a candidate I realise the importance of working with a consultant that knows exactly what you want to get out of your career, adding value along the way and making sure that you get the most out of each contract you work on.
