Women in Technology, Data and Transformation
We were really pleased to host our very first Women in Technology, Data and Transformation meetup last week Thursday partnering with KPMG. We've put together the "lessons learned" from our workshop where we brainstormed solutions to some of the biggest challenges women in technology are (still) facing.
In the recruitment industry, we are all asked the same question , `’What makes you different to another recruitment firm’ - the answer is very simple: At Morgan McKinley we are promoting & sponsoring female talent in Technology, Data Analytics and Transformation.
During the recent International Women’s week the team and I were very fortunate to interview and speak to many female leaders within Technology & Data who discussed their success, career-defining moments and what advice they would give to another female looking to pursue a similar career. We believe there are so many amazing opportunities out there for more females to build their careers in Technology and so many inspiring women in Technology today that we can learn from.
The meetup event gave women an opportunity to hear what inspired our panellists to get into technology, the challenges they have had to overcome to get into senior leadership roles, why do they think it is important to encourage women into technology and what practical advice they would give to people in the room.

During our workshops, we created three groups and each group discussed one main challenge women in technology are facing and how to overcome that challenge. Here are the challenges and most importantly solutions:
I think everyone I have met has had their own personal experience to add, so there were learnings for us all on what has worked, what has not and what more we can do. There were many common themes that came out and where similar challenges are that need to be addressed. I would also like to use this opportunity to share with you some of the outstanding female talent that we are currently working with in this field.
