The Next Wave of Digital Transformation -Part 1

Jonty Plewes 21.11.2018

In a panel discussion with 140 business leaders, we discussed the future of digital transformation. Based on this discussion, we have produced a whitepaper "The Next Wave of Digital Transformation", available for download below.

Over the past few years, Morgan McKinley’s Breakfast Series have tackled key agenda items in the Transformation space, bringing together the best and brightest from a range of sectors to exchange insights, challenges, trends, and innovative solutions. e set out to tackle "The Next Wave of Digital Transformation", exploring key learnings from the current suite of digital enhancements including both success stories and failures.

Our expert panel, consisting of Kimberly Chang - Partner at Deloitte Digital,  Matt Symons - Director at Red Marker and Alex Kok - Head of Digital Delivery at Boral, looked at how organisations can manage the cultural change that comes with the digital evolution and what some of the roles of the future look like. It was an excellent morning with plenty of thought-provoking topics coming out. The variety in backgrounds of our panel made for a great conversation with different views coming across on the topic.

The key takeaway for me was how we as individuals can prepare ourselves for the next wave of digital transformation, with Matt Symons suggesting that everyone should have their own side project where they can learn how to "fail fast".  These side projects can help us display how we might be able to adapt to the digital disruption facing many major corporate firms in the coming years.

Here is what some of our guests had to say following the event:

"Very pleased I attended. The whole event was professionally run, the MMK team were on hand to assist if needed and great representation that you were all there."

"The discussion was rather interesting. There was more common sense that came out of this than what comes out of board meetings. Well presented and a great way to start the day."

"Such a diverse group of speakers on the panel, I enjoyed the different views from different perspectives."

"Thoroughly enjoyed the event. The panel was very good. It reminded me that the fundamentals of data stay the same, and the importance of setting up an environment for data evolution, and making data a part of the organisation."

Thank you again to all of those that attended, we look forward to seeing you at future events this year.
