Morgan McKinley Transformation Focus Group 2019
We would love to hear from you about our service and the challenges you are facing in the current market.
The Business Analysis and Projects & Change Management teams, which make up the IT & Business Transformation division here at Morgan McKinley, pride ourselves on always trying to provide the best service for our candidates.
As such, I ran a Transformation Focus Group with the aim of speaking to a number of our candidates in a round table discussion about our current service, challenges in the market and what candidates expect from both the agency and the organisations we work with. It was a really engaging discussion with some interesting points being made that certainly provided food for thought for myself and the team.
Some of the main points to come out of the discussion were as follows:
- Feedback - as always this was a key pain point for most people, whether it was feedback from Morgan McKinley regarding job applications or indeed from the company after interview. It was clear that whether positive or negative, candidates wanted to know the outcome to help rule out opportunities during their job search.
- Interview Preparation - from the discussion, it was clear that everybody appreciated being briefed on as much information as possible when attending an interview. Whether that is a detailed job description, an understanding of the business and the project pain points or indeed an insight into the culture of the team or organisation.
- Honesty - again it was clear that candidates would like their agency to have an honest/consultative approach whether that is on their CV, qualifications or current market conditions. People mentioned that they would like to be advised on relevant industry trends, whether or not a certification will help progress their career and what demands we are seeing from clients.
There was also some discussion around moving away from Financial Services and into some of the large Transformation Programs within Commerce & Industry and how best to sell yourself for these opportunities.
I have provided this feedback to my team as we look to continually improve our service in 2019 and beyond.
