Compliance and Risk Recruitment in 2011

The risk and compliance hiring market within the financial services sector has been relatively active over the past six months.

As with any country when there is a traditional holiday period, business activity and consequently hiring activity slows. Summer is a great time to be in Sydney, with so much going on keeping both our clients and job seekers incredibly busy outside of the office. With the mercury rising and the surf calling on a daily basis, I was almost starting to wonder when the hiring market would finally pick up.

However, February has seen a real change in financial services recruitment activity – particularly in the compliance and risk market. The Sydney hiring market is now back in full swing as professionals continue their job searches re-energised and with greater clarity around their aspirations following some relaxing downtime

 Employers are optimistic about what successes the year will bring and what talent they can bring into businesses to achieve it as highlighted in our 2011 Hiring Market Survey. For me this has meant we have been incredibly busy and I am delighted to be back to weaving my way through the bustling city streets to meet clients and hear about their great summer holidays.
