Assistant Accountant - Up to $65k package

Job Description

Our client is a global property group with offices based in Sydney's CBD. Reporting into the Senior Accountant and Group Financial Controller for this division, this permanent role has become available due to internal promotion.

As the Assistant Accountant you will sit alongside the accounts payable and payroll teams in one of the key business units, and be responsible for a variety of duties including:

• General ledger reconciliations and maintenance; journal postings
• Complex intercompany processing for each region within the group
• BAS preparation and maintenance of the fixed asset register
• Liaising with AP and Payroll teams, regional stakeholders, cost centre managers
• Mentoring and coaching a junior member of the team

You will be degree educated and be aspiring to work towards either your CPA or CA qualification. You will have 1-2 years experience in either a small chartered firm or in an SME company, where you have been responsible for end to end transactional finance (ideally including AP, AR, Reconciliations, Tax, BAS etc). You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with your team and across the business.

This role is offering up to $65,000 per annum (package) along with a fantastic company environment and the expectation that you will be promoted internally within 12 months.
