Company Profile:

Large international financial services company with well appointed, central offices.

Role and Responsibilities:

This role is an excellent move into investment banking directly supporting the traders with their profit and loss reporting. Reporting to a very experienced Senior Manager, you will play a key role in supplying the business with timely, accurate and value added financial information. The individual will be responsible for the production of Daily P&L, analysis of revenues and various other daily and month-end reporting tasks, such as monthly journals and various reconciliations.

Key Accountabilities:
- Daily Profit and loss reporting and analysis which is circulated to key stakeholders
- Liaison with the trading desk to resolve trade exceptions
- Daily mark and context exceptions
- Interactions with other key support teams including Accounting Policy, Middle Office, Trade Support and IT Support
- Daily reconciliation of reported P&L numbers to the general ledger through the reporting tool
- Monthly commentary and analytical review for inclusion in the month-end reporting pack
- Preparation of monthly journals, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure adherence to all internal controls as well as identifying and implementing improvements to existing processes
- Involvement in the new product approval process
- Assistance with the month-end Balance Sheet reconciliations and substantiations
- Dealing with ad hoc projects from the business, responding in a timely manner and always aiming to add value
- Regulatory reporting and involvement in year-end reporting requirements

Qualifications:

Experience:
- Qualified Accountant - CA/CPA
- Financial market knowledege
- Proven ability to work to deadlines and tight timeframes
- Ability to drive change from initiation all the way through to implementation
- Skilled communicator in maintaining and developing productive working relationships at all management levels
- Ability to work well in both a team environment and individually skills
