Job Description

Investment Bank currently looking for Business Analysts that have excellent end to end process experience in finance.

Roles/Responsibilities

The successful business analyst will be responsible for successful delivery of assigned project work activity, including financial analysis, operational process review, process mapping and procedure documentation.

Initial responsibility will include investigating, documenting & generating recommendations for re-engineering specific Funding & Cash Management processes end to end from Front Office to Operations. The role will then develop into the strategic design & implementation of the end to end funding architecture.

The role will involve liaising with Front Office, Operations, IT and the other finance teams.  Essential experience for the role is expertise in Funding; Cash Management & Operational Risk control.

The business analyst will have a good understanding of Finance and Investment Banking processes and products.
The individual will be required to work to defined scope, time frames, and will be responsible for producing high quality outputs, in addition to being an effective communicator, who is highly driven and can work to deadlines.  Sound understanding of finance systems is also necessary.

 

Accountabilities: Include but not limited to:

  • Analysis and documentation of existing business processes
  • Design and documentation of new business processes 
  • Production of procedure documents to support business processes
  • Ensuring key controls are implemented into business processes
  • Report production on analytical outputs for business stakeholders
  • Interrogation and analysis of financial data including financial reconciliations
  • Presentation and communication of analysis
Personal Attributes
  • Business Degree with an accounting and finance bias
  • Qualified accountant
  • Minimum 5 years experience in finance or Investment Banking / Financial Services
  • Strong knowledge of end to end process flows of Investment banking products with an emphasis on effective controls.
  • Sound understanding of finance general ledger system & operational systems
  • Proven experience of process mapping and documenting business procedures with the ability to conceptualise, document and communicate complex issues  
  • System & Process thinking – the ability to understand and coordinate the individual components of complex processes into an overall framework
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • System Skills: Finance General Ledger (preferably Oracle), Visio, Microsoft Access, Excel / other Microsoft desktop applications
