Job Description

Roles/Responsibilities

As a result they have created 3 new positions to support their 3 main lines of business. As the Operational Risk Advisor, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring best practice risk and compliance initiatives across the business unit as the first line of defence. Working closely with the business manager and the team leaders across the business unit you will play a hands on role in;

  • Proactively monitoring the risk profile of the business areas including recommendations on key risks and control issues.
  • Performing reviews on control efficiency and effectiveness making recommendations for changes to strengthen the control environment.
  • Facilitating incident management through the co-ordination & coaching of the business in all aspects of the IM process
  • Building effective relationships with the front line managers to embed a culture of risk awareness
  • Ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Personal Attributes
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of the Operational Risk function
  • Tertiary qualifications in risk or finance
  • Commercially astute with the ability to build rapport and influence the business.
  • Proven ability in managing relationships with customers and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes which exceed expectations and respond effectively to business needs.
  • Knowledge of insurance, superannuation products and distribution channels.
  • RG14g compliant - desirable
